Game Watches
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Football game watches will continue at
MVP's in 2013. Several other alumni clubs hold their game watches there, so a little fun competition is inevitable. The club would like to thank the owners for their hospitality and for their support of our canned food drive competitions. Participation was good, but we "can" do a lot better next year. MVP's is located at the corner of 21st and L St in Sacramento.
And the fun doesn't stop there! When the Irish travel to Stanford, the Sacramento club works with the ND Clubs of San Francisco, Bay Area and Chico to plan game day weekend events and coordinate ticket distribution. This happens to be one of our major fundraisers, and with the series renewed for a few more years, we hope you'll help us make this a success.
Although football is the big draw, we are an equal opportunity cheering section for all the Irish teams and clubs that pass through Northern California. Over the years, we have cheered on the Women's Rowing team in the NCAA regionals at Lake Natoma, the Track & Field team in the NCAA regionals at Sac State, and we recently travelled to the San Francisco Fall Lacrosse Classic where the Men's Lacrosse team faced Johns Hopkins. We've also enjoyed hosting the Glee Club on their national tour, the Symphony Orchestra on their 2013 west coast tour, and coming soon the Women's Liturgical Choir.
UND Night and Student Sendoff
The purpose of UND Night is to encourage and maintain a connection between the University and members of the extended ND family. The University rotates speakers from Athletics, Academics and Administration to present information and answer questions about ND within the context of their area of expertise. We review the previous year's events and preview the coming year. This event is a wonderful opportunity to share a meal with other graduates, friends, family and students and hear the latest and greatest from South Bend.
The Student Sendoff is our official welcome/meet and greet for incoming freshmen and returning students. We combine these two annual events because it's tough to get everyone together during the summer!
Our 2013 guest of honor is Rev. Edward A. (Monk) Malloy, CSC, President Emeritus of ND. Date and location will be announced soon...

Rally sons of Notre Dame, sing her glory and sound her fame.
Raise her gold and blue and cheer with voices true: Rah rah for Notre Dame!
We will fight in ev'ry game, strong of heart and true to her name.
We will ne'er forget her and will cheer her ever, loyal to Notre Dame.
Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame. Wake up the echoes cheering her name.
Send a volley cheer on high, shake down the thunder from the sky.
What though the odds be great or small, old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching onward to victory!
